About ISO
Optical disc image (ISO 9660).
ISO 9660 is the filesystem on virtually every CD/DVD image — Linux install media, abandonware archives, game discs. We mount the image read-only in the browser via libarchive (WebAssembly), walk the directory tree (Joliet / Rock Ridge extensions included), and let you preview or extract entries without a burner.
FAQ
- What is an ISO file?
- An ISO image is a byte-for-byte copy of a CD or DVD, formatted with the ISO 9660 filesystem (often extended with Joliet for long Windows names or Rock Ridge for Unix permissions).
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. Files are opened entirely in your browser using local JavaScript and WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. The viewer is mobile-first and works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
- Does it handle bootable / hybrid ISOs?
- We surface the ISO 9660 filesystem layer that libarchive understands. Boot sectors, El Torito records, and UDF-only payloads (Blu-ray) are not parsed.
